XC: Athenians claim second on both sides of five way meet

The Boys Crawfordsville Athenian Cross Country team placed
second at the five-way meet hosted by Fountain Central. Other teams that ran were Fountain Central,
North Vermillion, Covington and Rockville. The Athenians scored 29 and North Vermillion
won with 28. North Vermillion scored 1^st, 4^th, 6^th,
7^th, and 10^th with another team scoring 9^th. The boys all ran hard tonight. Tonight John
Lawson’s time and place reflected his potential to give Tony Sturm competition
as our 1^st ranked runner. All of the boys have been achieving
personal bests this week which has been fun to watch.

I am very proud of these girls. They have put in a strong
effort all season. Tonight was the only the second meet in which they could
score as a team, and to grab 2^nd out of five teams has given them
some momentum at the half-way point of the season.
