Staff Report
The school
record 21 game winning streak came to an end this weekend for the
Crawfordsville Athenians. Lafayette Jeff used a five run sixth inning to down
Crawfordsville 8-6 in the Joe Heath Classic in Lafayette.
The winning
rally by the Bronchos was fueled by a hit batter and an Athenian error. Neither
pleased Coach John Froedge who noted after the game that Crawfordsville had
given up more runs than hits in the game and claimed that indicated some
defensive problems.
Despite the
disappointment of ending the winning streak, it didn’t take long for the
Athenians to start another. Crawfordsville bounced back with a convincing 6-1
shellacking of West Lafayette.
