GREENCASTLE – Crawfordsville High School’s three senior pitchers showed they’ve got some heat.

Although
the Athenians didn’t come anywhere close to scoring double-digit runs
Saturday afternoon, their pitching staff shut down Greencastle en route
to their 11th -straight win.

Cameron Hobson, Andrew Swart and
Cody Dowell struck out a combined 14 batters as visiting Class 3A
co-No. 3 Crawfordsville picked up a 2-0 win against Greencastle.

Hobson
(2-0) struck out 11 batters in five innings, while Dowell struck out
one in 2/3 of an inning and Swart recorded two strikeouts in 1 1/3
innings.

Greencastle outhit Crawfordsville 6-4 but the Athenians found ways to get their runners home.

Junior Brett Linn had an RBI, a hit and a run scored, while junior Scott Hunt also had an RBI and a a hit.

Crawfordsville
next plays at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Sagamore Athletic Conference rival
Danville, then travels to Danville for a Thursday rematch.

In the Athenians’ junior varsity game against Danville (Ill.), A.J. Ehrlich pitched a no- hitter in an 11-0 win.
